Nao Victoria

  • nao-victoria-248

The Nao Victoria is the unique replica of the ship that five centuries ago, captained by Magellan and Elcano, achieved what is considered to be the greatest maritime adventure of all times: the first circumnavigation (1519-1522).
This ship sailed for more than 3 years, travelled 37,753 nautical miles (69,918 km) across the great oceans of the world, to finally return to her point of departure, Seville in Spain
She had circled the world for the first time in history.
The replica of the Nao Victoria was built in the Southern Spain in 1991. Made in pine and oak, 26m long and 7m wide, she is an authentic masterpiece of marine carpentry, reflecting both historical accuracy and meticulous attention to the original features.
Since her construction, she has already completed immense voyages.
Between 2004 and 2006 she completed her own world tour, covering more than 26,000 nautical miles and calling at 17 countries. Since then she has continued to sail round the world, undertaking hundreds of cultural tours at US and European ports, and welcoming hundreds of thousands of visitors on board.
